What we use, why we use it, and how to switch any of it off. We try to use as few cookies as possible.

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. Some are essential for the site to work. Others help with analytics, personalisation, or advertising.
Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, "PECR"), websites have to tell you what they use and get your consent for anything that isn't strictly necessary.
We try to use as few cookies as possible.

That's it for cookies set directly by us. No tracking pixels, no third-party advertising cookies, no remarketing.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages get used and where the site is broken. This is fully cookieless. It uses aggregated, anonymised data only. It doesn't identify you, doesn't track you across sites, and doesn't need consent under PECR.
We have Google Analytics 4 wired in for richer insights into how the site is performing (which pages you arrive on, which you click through to, how long you spend). It only runs after you've actively accepted analytics cookies through our cookie banner. If you reject, GA4 doesn't load at all. IPs are anonymised before any data is recorded.
We also use Microsoft Clarity for anonymous heatmaps and session recordings. This shows us where visitors get stuck so we can fix it. Sessions are anonymous (no PII captured, all form inputs masked by default), and Clarity only runs after you've accepted analytics cookies. If you reject, it doesn't load at all.
You have three ways to control cookies on this site.
1. Our cookie banner. The first time you visit, you'll see a banner asking whether to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser cookies for this site or by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer (when there's anything to opt into, but at the moment there isn't).
2. Your browser. Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies. The exact steps depend on the browser you use:
Blocking all cookies may stop some parts of the site working as intended. Our forms, for example, rely on a short-lived anti-spam token from Formspree.
3. Privacy-focused tools. Browser extensions and privacy-focused browsers (like Brave or Firefox with strict tracking protection on) will block most third-party tracking by default. We don't think they'll break anything on this site, because we don't rely on third-party tracking.
You don't have to accept cookies to use this site. The strictly necessary ones run regardless, but nothing on our site is gated behind accepting marketing cookies. There aren't any.
If you'd like to know more about your rights generally, see our Privacy policy.
If we add a new cookie or analytics tool, we'll update this page and (where required) ask for your consent through the banner. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.
